Heritage Hall Bacon Tribute Collection 2024

The Sense of Place explores Talladega’s rich history, offering insight into the events, people, and places that have shaped the community. Through photographs, artifacts, and archival materials, the exhibit captures Talladega’s spirit from its earliest days through periods of change and growth.

Now, the Heritage Hall Museum is expanding the story with a new series of oral history interviews featuring local residents, educators, artists, and community leaders. These personal stories preserve Talladega’s cultural heritage and bring its history to life.

By collecting these voices, the museum helps ensure future generations connect with the experiences and values that define this unique sense of place.

Step into a world of splendor, tradition, and artistry at Visit with Royalty: A Mardi Gras Showcase, an enchanting exhibition celebrating the pageantry and cultural legacy of Mardi Gras through the lens of royal dress, ceremonial costume, and artistic expression.

Presented February 5–27, 2026, this distinguished showcase is offered in proud collaboration with the Mobile Carnival Museum, bringing together the richness of Gulf Coast Mardi Gras heritage and the refined elegance of royal presentation. Guests are invited to explore the symbolism, craftsmanship, and storytelling behind regal attire, masks, crowns, and adornments that have long defined the mystique of Carnival royalty.

The exhibition opens with a Royal Reception on February 5, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 PM, welcoming patrons, artists, and community leaders to an evening of celebration and visual delight. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion with royal dress and costuming, honoring the grandeur and ceremonial traditions that define Mardi Gras culture.

Hosted at the Heritage Hall Museum and Art Center, this showcase transforms the gallery into a court of color, texture, and history, where purple reigns, gold glimmers, and green symbolizes renewal and prosperity. Each element reflects the enduring legacy of Mardi Gras as both a cultural celebration and an artistic institution.

Join us for a royal audience with history, heritage, and high art where tradition is honored, creativity is crowned, and every visitor is treated as nobility.

👑✨ Mardi Gras awaits your presence.
