About the Artist:
Marian Nash Yoe was born in Washington, Georgia of Wilkes County in 1921. She came to Talladega, Alabama to study nursing. She eventually married Dr. Al Yoe, Jr. and began life as a wife and, then, mother of four.
Marian's family was the most precious priority in her life; and along with that responsibility, she inserted and shared her creative thoughts and talents at home. And Mrs. Yoe refined her gifts and skills within workshops throughout the South. She paints with acrylics, oils, and watercolors, while she also finds pleasure in collages. Her long participation in the arts has rendered a variation of subjects. Marian discovers a sense of artful delight in everything and everyone. Her favorite subjects would be to capture the amazing beauty of flowers.
Mrs. Yoe has printed illustrations for two children's books, has had numerous one-woman shows and is honored to be an exhibitor once again within the walls of Heritage Hall Museum. Marian also had the opportunity to share her talents in art when she was selected To serve as Mrs. Senior Alabama in 1990; and was selected as a finalist in the Mrs. Senior America Competition. Many of her original paintings and limited edition prints are in the collections of corporations and private collections.
Mrs. Yoe resides still in her Talladega home of over 70 years where she continues to work in her studio.
