ASB and Helen Keller School Students "DO ART" with Record 46 Art Works at Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall Museum was thrilled to host the 2022 Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama this year again. Although the exhibit was only here for a short two weeks this year, the opening reception and award presentation was a true celebration of the kids!! Thirteen young artists from ASB and Helen Keller Schools (see list below) placed in the show and received museum medals and a laminated copy of their artwork. MS Vera Hendrix, VP of Instructional Programs (AIDB), gave the opening remarks and thanked the families and the teachers (Ms Liz Jones and Mr Eric Richardson) for working with the kids to encourage and develop their creative potential. Thank you to all who were able to join us!

Many thanks to Ms Shirley Wilson, Director of the Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama, for joining us and leading this critical program for Alabama. We had a record 46 art works this year, the exhibit continues to grow and we love that. DO ART!!! Thank you also to Keyell Bentley, junior at Talladega College, who took the photographs and will be completing an internship at Heritage Hall this spring as part of the “Project Launch” career initiative sponsored by the City of Talladega.
