Experience the enchanting world of watercolor art at the Member Showcase exhibit presented by The Watercolor Society of Alabama, located at the prestigious Heritage Hall Museum. The Watercolor Society of Alabama's Member showcase opening reception opened with a great crowd! Everyone enjoyed visiting with the artists, each other. We were thrilled to welcome City Council members Betty Spratlin, Hugh Sims, James Braswell and Steve Dickerson, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Donnie Miller, North Talladega United Way Executive Director Valerie Burrage, Ritz Theatre Executive Director Lauren Deal and many other Talladega City and County friends. Walt Costilow, the President of the Watercolor Society of Alabama MC'd the awards ceremony and Nancy Paden, the Member Showcase Exhibit Director introduced the Awards Judge and workshop leader Ellen Jean Diederich, who engaged visitors in a gallery talk, explaining her judging criteria and provided feedback to artists on many of the paintings in the exhibit. The exhibit will be at Heritage Hall Museum through October 25, open Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 4pm. The Watercolor Society of Alabama was established in 1939 with a compelling vision to promote, create, and inspire artists working in watercolor media. This vision is brought to life through annual juried watercolor competitions, including the WSA Annual National Exhibition, Statewide Alabama Members Showcase, and Online Showcase.
