Annie Laurie Porter

Annie Laurie was born January 24, 1927 in Renfroe, Alabama.

Her love of art began during the first grade. She took every opportunity she had at the classroom easel painting houses and trees.

Her first art lessons were at the University of Montevallo from 1943- 1947. She has taken art lessons from Bob Phillips, Al Sellers and Billy Wilson at the Birmingham Museum of Art.

She is currently taking lessons from Wayne Spradley, whose classes she has enjoyed for over 30 years.
