Mary Fountain
Mary Fountain was born near Asheville, NC and moved to Alabama in 1977. She enrolled in a couple of Art classes at Guilford College and attended classes in Birmingham with Ron Lewis for about 7 years, where she learned how to paint with acrylics and oils.
After moving to Talladega in 2003, she studied acrylics with Tommy Moorhead for several years. She has been in watercolor classes with Wayne Spradley for about 10 years. She has also attended workshops with Paul Jackson, Joan Fullerton, Judi Betts, and Stan Miller.
Mary is a Signature member and the Treasurer of the Watercolor Society of Alabama. Her paintings have been accepted in several WSA state and National exhibitions and won a Patron’s award in the recent Alabama Members Exhibit. She has taught classes in watercolors and acrylics at Heritage Hall Museum and Art Center.
She lives in Talladega County and loves it.
