Sondra Carlisle

After being introduced to the medium of watercolor in jr. high school, I was hooked. I am self-taught, except for high school and workshop classes and have been painting in watercolor exclusively for a little over 30 years.

I grew up in the Pell City area but moved to Mobile in my mid-twenties. Mobile's thriving art community inspired me to focus on my art and get involved in the local galleries and societies. I am now back in the Pell City area and am proud to be a part of the talented watercolor community here. My artistic style is loose, but I also try to add a bit of realism. I enjoy the challenges of reflections and vintage cars.

Sondra is a member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama. One of her paintings exhibited in the 2017 National Exhibit “Orange Bounty”, was purchased for the Heritage Hall Permanent Collection by the Montgomery family in honor or their mother, Ann Montgomery.
